IRELAND and FLEETWOOD MAC
This year is a pretty big one for me. I turn 30! I have been trying to figure out a fun thing to do for this big occasion, and it came to me. I have been wanting to see Fleetwood Mac ever since they started touring again and I just never had a window that I could make it work. This competitive season I was over in Europe a lot and that is when Fleetwood Mac was touring in the US. Now that I got back home they went back to Europe and the UK. So I decided that I would go see them in Dublin! I have never been to Ireland before; had no reason to go besides the beautiful countryside, but they don’t have the snow and mountains that I and usually seeking. Ever since that movie, FAR AND AWAY came out I always wanted to visit Ireland, and after saving my miles, I bought a concert ticket and hopped on a plane. I took my mom because I have been so fortunate to travel so many places with my dad, and she has always supported me but as far as watching me compete….well lets just say she was always too stressed and never enjoyed where she was because she was constantly worried that I would get hurt during a race. We had two days in Dublin, saw the concert, then traveled up to Northern Ireland, we checked out the standing stones in Beaghmore, then continuing north and stayed in a cute B&B near the coast, and then went to the Giants Causeway and coastline to take in the sites. It was a lot packed into 4 days, but we had a lot of fun and had some great experiences. There is no other concert that could bridge a generational gap between mother and daughter better than Fleetwood Mac. I am still on such a high from the show.
